Super Visa

The Super Visa is an amazing visa that allows parents and grandparents to visit family in Canada for longer periods. This 10-year multiple entry visa allows eligible parents or grandparents to stay for up to 5 years at a time in Canada. The Canadian government announced that as of July 4, 2022, the maximum length of stay for Super Visa holders increased from 2 years to 5 years at a time. The key difference between a Super Visa compared to a 10-year multiple entry Visitor Visa is the maximum length of each stay, 5 years versus 6 months.

Eligibility Requirements:

have a child or grandchild who is a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident;
be invited by your child or grandchild (Invitation Letter);
purchase medical insurance that covers a $100,000 minimum and is valid for 1-year after the date of entry;
application is made and the visa is issued from outside of Canada;
not inadmissible;
undergo and pass an immigration medical exam (not medically inadmissible);
the sponsor (inviter) meets the minimum necessary income;
meet other conditions as well.
